Manual Handling

Non Nationally Recognised Training

This course provides staff with appropriate knowledge and skills to perform their roles effectively and safely to avoid injury to self and others.

Catheter Awareness and Dysphagia

Non Nationally Recognised Training

This course gives the students the knowledge and skills to provide personal care for clients with urinary catheters while providing safe feeding techniques to avoid choking or aspiration of food or liquid, for people who have difficulty swallowing.

Providing the knowledge and skills to effectively observe and record vital signs and pain management.

Medication Administration Workshop

This is a workshop provided weekly for existing My Flex Health International support staff and new employees for both our Health Services and Home care team. It is a requirement of My Flex Health International that this is completed satisfactorily annually and before staff can manage medications. it is not the unit of competence which is recognised as part of the certificate IV in aged care.

The workshop is composed of both theory and practical components including a practical observation which is modified to meet the needs of both groups. The content includes legislation, standards   and acts, general information about various types and effects of medication in the body, administration procedures  inclusive of documentation and reporting for medications inclusive of inhalers, nebulised medications, patches, eyedrops , eardrops, and tablets via Co-Sach and webster pack systems . There is a written component to complete as part of the workshop.
