HLTAID001 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Our CPR course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to:
- Respond to an emergency situation
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with ARC guidelines
- Operate automated external defibrillator (AED) according to manufacturers instructions
- Communicate details of incident
Interim Position Statement On “HLTAID009 PROVIDE CPR’ AND ‘HLTAID011 PROVIDE FIRST AID.

Summary of Changes:
On 15 October 2020 the unit of competency, ‘HLTAID001 Provide CPR’ was superseded by ‘HLTAID009 Provide CPR’.
On 15 October 2020 the unit of competency ‘HLTAID003 Provide First Aid’ was superseded by ‘HLTAID011 Provide First Aid’.
In both cases the new units were deemed non-equivalent. It should be noted that under the Standard 1.26 a) of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015 there is a (12) twelve-month transition period is in effect for all superseded units.
This course is recommended for both students wishing to learn CPR, or students wanting to refresh their CPR skills yearly based on the recommendation of ARC Guideline 10.1.
Delivery is blended through a mix of practical and theory.
There are no pre-requisites for entry. Applicants must be physically able to perform CPR at ground level, on a manikin, for a minimum of 2 minutes uninterrupted.
Our HLTAID001 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation is run fortnightly at 97 Edward St, Perth.
