HLTWHS005 – Conduct Manual Tasks Safely
Our Manual Handling Workshop prepares nurses, nursing students, support care workers and domestic workers to carry out manual handling tasks in a safe manner.
Conveniently located in our Perth training facility, our manual handling course is interactive, fun and hands-on! You will have access to full working hoists, hospital beds, and slide sheets, as well as all the necessary equipment for you to learn with and practice on whilst being supported by your trainer or assessor.
During this course, you will receive all the necessary theory to understand legislation and safe work practices surrounding the mobilisation of clients and objects within your own working role. You will be involved in practical demonstrations where you will practice these skills and use all the equipment whilst being supported and guided by our experienced trainers and assessors.

- Preventing Injuries
- Basic anatomy and physiology of the spine
- Correct postures
- Pre-start exercises
- Log rolls
- Use of slide sheets
- Use of a full hoist and standing hoist in a variety of situations
Duration: 4 Hours (Offsite training is available on request)
Cost: $100 or $50 if you are a My Flex Health employee.
On successful completion of this workshop you will receive a Certificate of Participation. If you require a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTWHS005 please advise us at the time of enrolling.
