Weekly Intakes

The unit of competency HLTAID003 Provide first aid describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

You will demonstrate how to:
    • Respond to an emergency situation
    • Apply appropriate first aid procedures
    • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with ARC guidelines
    • Operate automated external defibrillator (AED) according to manufacturers instructions
    • Communicate details of the incident
DURATION: 7.5 Hours (Offsite training is available on request)

Delivery is blended through a mix of practical and theory.

There are no pre-requisites for entry. Applicants must be physically able to perform CPR at ground level, on a manikin, for a minimum of 2 minutes uninterrupted.

On successful completion of the unit, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment that states competency in HLTAID003 Provide first aid
